Freddy Krueger Returns For Fortnitemares

Fortnite’s Fortnitemares event launched today, and Freddy Krueger is one of the new boss characters players can run into. The launch trailer puts him alongside Slender Man, the Predator, and a lineup of Halloween Horror Nights characters.

Dread Central reports that leaker Wensoing says the Freddy Krueger boss is fully voiced by Robert Englund, the original actor behind the character. Epic Games hasn’t confirmed that officially, so take it as reported rather than locked in. Cosmetics and other Fortnitemares items will roll out through the month instead of all landing at once.

There’s also a smaller crossover gag built in: a gameplay clip shows Freddy Krueger running into Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s, which joined Fortnite on the same day as the Fortnitemares launch.
