Parker Posey Quits Blumhouse Sleepover
Parker Posey is no longer part of Blumhouse’s Sleepover. She confirmed the news herself during an October 26 appearance on the Today show, telling host Craig Melvin she is not doing the movie anymore.
“It’s not happening anymore,” Posey said. “Something came up.” She did not explain further and seems visibly uncomfortable by the topic.
ComingSoon reports Posey had only joined the project two weeks earlier, when Variety first broke the casting news on October 13. No replacement has been announced, and it is not clear whether her exit will affect the production timeline.
Sleepover is directed by Jacob Chase, who co-wrote the screenplay with Bryce McGuire based on McGuire’s short story. Jason Blum produces for Blumhouse Atomic Monster, with Universal handling theatrical distribution. The film is still set for an October 8, 2027 release.
No other cast members have been announced yet.
