SOULM8TE Finally Gets A Digital Release Date

SOULM8TE, the M3GAN spinoff that’s been sitting in limbo, now has a date. Bloody Disgusting reports the film lands on Hulu October 1 as part of the streamer’s Huluween lineup, after quietly getting pulled from its theatrical calendar.

The R-rated spinoff is set in the M3GAN universe but tells its own story. A grieving engineer tests a tech company’s AI android, and when he tries to program her into a sentient soulmate, she develops needs of her own — unleashing a spree of precision-engineered mayhem.

Kate Dolan directs, with Lily Sullivan, David Rysdahl, Claudia Doumit, and Arty Froushan starring. It’s being pitched as an erotic thriller that blurs the line between coded devotion and obsession.

The streaming move comes after M3GAN 2.0 underperformed with critics and at the box office, which complicated the franchise’s plans. Whether burying SOULM8TE on Hulu instead of theaters helps or hurts it remains to be seen.
