Breeder Delayed Again To Late October

IFC and Shudder have pushed Breeder’s theatrical release back again, this time from October 16 to October 28. This is the second date change since the film’s release was first announced.

Breeder is the feature debut of director Alex Goyette. The body-horror film follows a college student in financial need who’s recruited by an eccentric poodle breeder for research funding at her remote ranch, only to discover a sinister catch. Daniel Doheny, Dot-Marie Jones, Maddie Phillips, and Tanaya Beatty star.

The film premiered at Tribeca and earned an R rating for disturbing material, violence, bloody images, sexual content, graphic nudity, and language. Goyette has said the film confronts ideas around eugenics through the lens of the breeder character, as those conversations keep resurfacing in the culture.

No reason was given for the latest shift. With two delays now on the books, Breeder’s finally locked-in date puts it up against a crowded final week of October releases.
