Children of the Corn (1984) was shot in the fall of 1983 in small towns around Sioux City in northwest Iowa, which stood in for Gatlin, Nebraska.

Whiting Main Street and Flagpole

Address: Whittier St at Blair St, Whiting, IA 51063

Whittier Street served as the downtown of the empty town of Gatlin. The flagpole at Whittier and Blair, next to the city hall, is where Burt gets surrounded by the children.

Public street. The town held a 40th anniversary screening at the flagpole in 2024.
