Where Child's Play was filmed in Illinois: the Brewster Apartments, the old Playland Toys and the Carson Pirie Scott building in Chicago.
Child’s Play shot its outdoor scenes in Chicago in winter. The interiors were filmed at a studio in California.

The old Carson Pirie Scott building played the outside of the store where Karen works.
Now a Target and offices. Open to the public.
