Elvira Joins R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2

Cassandra Peterson is bringing Elvira energy to R.L. Stine’s world, and honestly it’s about time someone paired these two careers up — they’ve basically been in the same “traumatize a generation of children” business for decades.

Peterson plays Cassandra, a witch character, in R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2, landing October 9 on Tubi as part of their Terror on Tubi lineup. Writer/director Jem Garrard is back from the first movie. The plot: Sam and Becka have to stop a new Pumpkinhead curse from swallowing the town of Redhaven, after a bullied kid named Evan digs up a forbidden book that wakes the pumpkin-headed creatures back up.

Peterson on landing the role: “R.L. Stine and I have been in the business of scaring kids for a long time, so joining Pumpkinhead 2 was a real treat. Playing Cassandra was perfect for a witchy role.” Can’t argue with that — if anyone’s earned a lap around the “creeped out multiple generations of children” track, it’s these two.

First-look images are out now, and the movie hits Tubi October 9.
