Scary Movie 6 Tops Paramount+

Scary Movie is the most watched movie on Paramount+ worldwide right now. Men’s Journal reports the film sits ahead of Top Gun: Maverick, Passenger and Scream 7 on the platform’s charts as of October 26.

The movie is a soft reboot of the franchise, continuing the story from the first two Scary Movie films. Shawn and Marlon Wayans co-wrote and star, alongside Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Chris Elliott, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri and Lochlyn Munro.

Scary Movie opened in theaters in June and earned $231.9 million worldwide against a $30 million budget, making it the second highest grossing film in the franchise. It joined Paramount+ in September with an extended cut that restores jokes trimmed from the theatrical release.

The streaming run suggests plenty of people are still looking for comfort viewing from a nearly 25 year old parody franchise, right in time for Halloween.
