The Purge: Election Year – Filming Locations

Where The Purge: Election Year was filmed in Rhode Island, which stood in for Washington, DC.

Most of The Purge: Election Year (2016) was shot in Providence and Woonsocket in the fall of 2015, with Rhode Island standing in for Washington, DC.

Rhode Island State House

Address: 82 Smith St, Providence, RI 02903

The State House stands in for the White House and the Capitol. The NFFA meeting was filmed in the Governor’s State Room, and the basement plays the Safe Zone.

Free and open to the public on weekdays.

St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center

Address: 84 Cumberland St, Woonsocket, RI 02895

This former church plays Our Lady of Sorrows, where the NFFA Purge Mass and the crypt scenes take place.

The center offers tours.

Main Street, Downtown Woonsocket

Address: Main St, downtown Woonsocket, RI 02895

The street was dressed as downtown Washington, DC for the Joe’s Deli scenes and the Purge tourist ambush.

Prospect Terrace Park

Address: Congdon St at Cushing St, Providence, RI 02906
