Obsession Sets Netflix Release Date
Obsession, Curry Barker’s hit horror film, is coming to Netflix in the US on November 17.
Outlook India reports that the US streaming date is confirmed, with other regions to get their own release dates later. The film already had a run on Peacock and got a theatrical re-release for Halloween.
In other Barker news, Fangoria reports, citing Variety, that A24 has tapped Barker to write and direct a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. Details on the project are still under wraps, but the producing team includes Roy Lee and Kim Henkel, who co-wrote the original 1974 film.
Barker revealed earlier this year that Netflix almost picked up Obsession as an original before Focus Features acquired it instead. Star Inde Navarrette has said she’d be open to doing an Obsession sequel if one happens.
It’s a big stretch for Barker, who’s about to take on one of horror’s most famous franchises.
