Rosie O’Donnell Joins Rocky Horror

Rosie O’Donnell is joining the Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show at Studio 54. Deadline reports she’ll play the Narrator for a two-week stretch, October 6 through October 18.

She’s filling in for Rachel Dratch, who is taking a short break and returns to the role October 20. The rest of the cast includes Jake Shears as Frank-N-Furter and Kevin McHale as Brad Majors. Sam Pinkleton, who won a Tony for directing the revival, is behind the production.

It’s O’Donnell’s first time on a Broadway stage in 21 years, aside from a 2014 Tony Awards appearance. She moved to Ireland full-time last year, so this is a brief trip back to the U.S. Her earlier Broadway credits include Grease, Seussical and Fiddler on the Roof.

The Rocky Horror Show revival opened in April 2026 and has since picked up nine Tony nominations, including Best Revival of a Musical. It’s been extended twice and is now on sale through February 2027.
