The Return of the Living Dead (1985) – Filming Locations

Where The Return of the Living Dead was filmed in California: the Uneeda building and cemetery gate in Lincoln Heights.

The Return of the Living Dead is set in Louisville, but it was shot in late 1984 in Los Angeles, Burbank and Sylmar. The Uneeda warehouse and mortuary interiors were sets built in a Burbank warehouse.

Uneeda Medical Supply

Address: Moulton Avenue, Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles, CA 90031 (private home)

The outside of the Uneeda warehouse, where Frank and Freddy work. The building went up in 1922 as an Edison substation.

Now a private home. A metal barrier blocks part of the view. View from the street only.

Resurrection Cemetery Gate Site

Address: End of Moulton Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90031

The crew built the cemetery arch and wall on the empty lot next to Uneeda, by the train tracks.

The set is gone and it is an empty lot again. View from Moulton Avenue. The Brewery Arts Complex is right nearby.

Cemetery Grove Site, Sylmar

Address: Roxford St, Sylmar, CA 91342

The main graveyard scenes were shot in a grove here, dressed with Spanish moss and a Civil War cannon.

The grove is now a housing tract. Nothing from the film remains.
