Tremors (1990) – Filming Locations

Where Tremors was filmed in California: the Perfection set site near Olancha and the Alabama Hills in Lone Pine.

Tremors was shot in the spring of 1989 in the Owens Valley around Lone Pine and Olancha, with indoor scenes at Valencia Studios.

The Town of Perfection Site

Address: Cactus Flat Rd, east of US-395, Olancha, CA 93549

The whole town of Perfection was built here, and most of the Graboid attacks in town were filmed on this set.

The set was torn down after filming and only desert remains. Some side roads are now gated, so view from the public road.

The Boulders: Alabama Hills

Address: Movie Flat Rd, Alabama Hills, Lone Pine, CA 93545

Earl, Val and Rhonda get stuck on the boulders and pole-vault across the rocks, with Mount Whitney behind them.

Free public BLM land. From Lone Pine, take Whitney Portal Road west about 2.5 miles and turn onto Movie Road, which is unpaved. The rocks they vault onto were props and are gone.

Tuttle Creek Road

Address: Tuttle Creek Rd, Lone Pine, CA 93545

Earl and Val find the dead road crew in the narrow canyon.

Public road at the south end of the Alabama Hills.

Museum of Western Film History

Address: 701 S Main St, Lone Pine, CA 93545

Not a filming location, but the museum has a Graboid from the film on display.

Open to visitors. Check the museum for hours.
