Crystal Lake Shares Opening Scene

Peacock has released the opening scene from “Crystal Lake,” its “Friday the 13th” prequel series, ahead of the show’s October 15 premiere. Dread Central has the clip.

The scene shows Pam Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini, covered in blood and staring at herself in a mirror. She pulls glass from her knuckles while asking herself, “What did you do?” It’s a short, unsettling tease of the violence still to come.

“Crystal Lake” comes from showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, who also worked on “It: Welcome to Derry.” The series follows the town of Crystal Lake in the aftermath of Jason Voorhees’ drowning, tracing how his mother Pam unravels in the years before the original “Friday the 13th.”

All eight episodes premiere October 15 on Peacock.
